1.3.17

Every Tuesday between school and gymnastics, we kill time at the local library.  The girls love playing with all of the toys and reading books.  Brad just said to me last night, "I'm so glad both of our girls love to read!"  It's so true.  I could put them in a room full of books and they would be entertained for hours.
Both girls go to bed with books and it buys me a few extra minutes of sleep every morning {not much... but a little}.

YAAAAYYYYY!!!!
I made it through our 2016 posts!!!
And for those keeping track... it's only May, so I still have 5 months to catch up on! ;)

---

I love Christmas break!
I love not having to worry about getting the girls dressed and off to school.
We spend most of our time in our PJs enjoying the calm & relaxation with Play-doh and other activities.

I started taking decorations down early this year {I could seriously keep them up all year long, but this year, with Brad leaving in a few short weeks for school, I wanted everything in it's place}.
When the mistletoe came down, Norah got one last kiss under it from her daddy!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

This year, like every year we have had kids, we laid low for New Years Eve.  Brad ordered sushi {a little twist from our typical Chinese food, but after 3 years of living here, we have not found a good Chinese restaurant in the area, so we switched it up a bit & I LOVE this new tradition so much more}!

Brad's best friend brought his daughter over to play and enjoy the evening & since our kiddos are far too young to watch the ball drop, we relied on Netflix, yet again, to count down to 2017 a little early!

Brad and I, of course, stayed up to watch the ball drop!
I'm going to miss being able to watch it an hour earlier here in Texas {I'm such an old lady... midnight is LATE}!

12.28.16

Sometimes, after the hustle and bustle of the holidays, you just need to spend some time relaxing.
And, when you have two little girls join you, they spend that time jumping & yelling "PILLOW FIGHT!!"

And, let me just say, Hallelujah!!!
I have a baby with beautiful big curls!
How Norah managed to get straight hair is beyond me, but Piper has kept those ringlets!!!
{FYI: I'm not singing Hallelujah when it comes time to brush her hair... I now know how my mom felt every day of my life}

12.25.16

IT'S CHRISTMAS!!!
My most favorite day of the year!! :D

The girls woke up before the sun, as expected, & were so ready to open gifts.  Brad and Norah never give me enough time to get downstairs to get my camera set for that first reaction.  They are both just far too excited to see what Santa brought!

Santa hid the pickle in the tree.
Norah has been looking forward to finding it ever since we told her the story of getting to be the first to open a present if you find it.  Of course she was on a mission.

Santa always goes WAY overboard for Christmas!
I guess the girls are just extra good throughout the year.
But, I love it!
I never want the fun to end.

I think their favorite gift of the year was the trampoline!
And it has been my favorite, too... it has provided HOURS of entertainment!
We have hit the age for Norah where clothes are a boring gift.
I thought for sure I had until she was almost a teenager for that.
She got one outfit and it received all of the moans and groans.... noted.

After we cleaned up the paper and boxes, we enjoyed our traditional apple baked french toast and spent the day as a family enjoying each other's company!
