We went to pick out our tree today.
It had been raining here, so we couldn't go the day after Thanksgiving like I originally had hoped.  I was really worried we would find ourselves at a pre-cut tree shop after obsessing over the forecast, but the second the clouds rolled out, we did, too.  We are not pre-cut tree people... nothing beats the experience of picking out your tree and cutting it down & yelling "TIMBER!!"  It's those memories that I love most about Christmas time as a child.

We went to this tree farm last year.
Norah remembered every little detail as we made the 45 minute drive to the country.
She reminded us that we would ride the tractor out to the field and play on the playground.

When we got out to the field, Norah found herself a walking stick or two...
I guess hunting for a Christmas tree on flat land in Texas is hard work.

Piper just went along for the ride in the Tula.
She's a pretty chill little baby when it comes to going places.
She's pretty indifferent about her role in these events. haha

We found our tree within minutes, but of course we had to walk the entire farm to make sure that was the one!!!  Sure enough, we went right back to the first row of trees we checked out.
Norah supervised the cutting of the tree & helped drag it out to the road for the tractor to pick it up.

We sipped on hot cocoa and played on the playground while Brad got the tree tied to the roof of our car.  The cutting of the Christmas tree will forever be one of my favorite traditions!
