Annapolis *5/4/13*

Omah came to visit while Brad was in training in Florida.
She's always such a big help when Brad is gone.
We love taking a day to go to Annapolis on almost every visit and this trip was no exception
... there are so many little boutiques in downtown that we just love!
After a day of shopping we stopped to take some pictures in front of the capital building.
It was such a beautiful day!!

Norah was afraid of putting her right leg down on the grass.  I double and triple checked that there wasn't anything prickly under her.  She has never had any issues with the grass before... I'm not sure why today was different, but it sure was funny watching her sit with one leg up.

visitors *4/13/13*

It was so wonderful to have my family down from Pennsylvania for the weekend of Norah's birthday.
Between cake & gifts, we spent some time playing at the park, eating Rita's {Norah's first Rita's experience... it was a big hit}, and catching up on life in PA.
I miss my family a lot.
I am so grateful to only be 4 1/2 hours from them.
That 4 1/2 hours was a much easier trip coming from Vermont & not having to deal with DC & Baltimore traffic...
...and even easier with a dog or two than it is with a one year old.
Don't get me wrong... Norah is great in the car {with the exception of one trip to PA}.  It's my nerves of city driving and my lack of trust for other drivers that terrifies me.
It's ok... you can call me an over-protective Mama!  I won't deny it!
So, when my brothers and family decided to make the trip down, I was beyond thrilled!
It was WONDERFUL to have my brother, Justin, down for the weekend, too.
He always vowed never to return to Vermont after my family left years ago, so a visit from him was well past due!  I hope for many more in the future!

I don't know how Pam dodged the camera all weekend!!  But, I assure you she was there. :)

This was Norah's first time on the swings!  She LOVED it & loved having her Uncle Justin push her!
But, it wasn't long before she was out for a nap.  It made me wish they made electronic swings for her size!  I guess we'll just have to start going to the park more often!

it's a party *4/12/13*

With Brad being away for Norah's birthday, my brothers & family came down from PA for a small party to celebrate year 1!  As I said before, we made sure Brad didn't miss a moment.  He was there to sing Happy Birthday, share her carrot cake cupcake, & open her gifts.  I could tell it was hard on Brad to be over 700 miles away, but I couldn't be more grateful for technology these days.  I say it over and over again; I could never have been a Navy wife before Skype was invented.  I don't know how the previous generations did it!    But, because we are beyond blessed to be a tech-savvy world, we set up the laptop in front of Norah & she shared every moment of her birthday party with her Daddy!

Norah received the best gifts for her birthday!  She just loved the talking Cookie Monster!  She walks around with the cookies in her mouth every day.  She's our little Cookie Monster.  She gets that from her Mommy!  And we have our own E*Trade baby!  She was typing away on her little pink laptop from the second she opened it.  She kept talking to the monitor, yelling "DA... DA... DA."  She knows the computer is for seeing Daddy!!  It's her favorite part of the day.  We talked about taping a picture of Daddy to it so she could talk to him whenever she wanted.  She sure misses him!!
Norah had a wonderful birthday & I'm so grateful that my family was able to celebrate with her!  She is so loved!!

One Year *4/12/13*

I can't believe it... where did the year go??  It feels like we were living in Florida just a short time ago, awaiting the arrival of our first baby & here we are... one year later with a beautiful toddler who has the sweetest personality and a belly full of laughter.  She brings a smile to my face & fills my heart with so much love every day!!  I couldn't imagine life without our sweet little Miss Norah.  We waited a long time to grow our family & now it is all flying by so fast!  She is learning so much with each passing day... how does one keep up??  I fear for the day my little snuggle bug doesn't reach for my hugs & squeezes or no longer needs me to hold her hand or give her a boost on the newest adventures she faces {even the smallest ones like climbing onto the couch or climbing the stairs}.  She will be an independent young lady some day.  She is already so brave and adventurous.  I want to hold onto every ounce of baby that is still in her little body.
