daddy's girl

This weekend Norah and I honored the best daddy in the world for his first father's day!
Brad has waited a very long time to celebrate this day, so we made sure to make it an extra special two day extravaganza!
On Saturday we had originally planned a trip to the Star Spangled Sailabration in Baltimore, but after some research & lots of warnings about traffic and long lines, we decided to go a different route.  So, we jumped in the car and headed north for Washington D.C.  With it all but in our back yard we have been itching to get there, but have found our weekends to be jam packed with other activities.  Since it was Brad's weekend he got to plan our itinerary and first on the list was the Air & Space Museum.

Norah slept most of the day, so we had to make sure we got some pictures with her so we can tell her all about the day she went to the Air & Space Museum when she is older.
Washington D.C. is one of my favorite cities.  I could walk around for hours and never get sick of it {provided I wore the proper footwear}... and that's pretty much what we did.

Brad has always wanted to visit the Law Enforcement Memorial.  It's a memorial you wish never existed & it's so sad to see the number of names etched on those walls.  My heart breaks for all of the family members, co-workers, & loved ones that have been killed in the line of duty.  It is too frequent.  Our dear friend's dad's name is on that wall, so we were sure to stop and pay our respects to him & all of the officers who were taken too soon.

It was a wonderful day in the city & we're already planning our next trip back.  I have a feeling we will spend a lot of free time in D.C.

On Sunday morning, I woke up bright & early with Norah {she's a 6am kind of baby} & took her downstairs to entertain her while Brad caught a few extra hours of sleep.  Everyone deserves to be spoiled on their special day!  I think he loved every relaxing, uninterrupted moment of it!

For Brad's first Father's Day, Norah & I were sure to get him the manliest of gifts...

We had been talking about picking up a grill since before moving to MD & now we no longer have to wheel our friends' grill down the street every time we decide to host a bbq... I would say Brad had a very memorable & enjoyable weekend with the ones he loves most.  Happy first Father's Day to the most caring dad!  We love you!!

{apparently all pictures taken on Sunday were from instagram}...

daddy's girl

There is no question that Norah is a Daddy's Girl!  I see it every time she stares at her daddy in awe.
She has him wrapped around her little finger and I just know her heart is so full of love for him!
I love capturing these morning daddy/daughter moments.

This last one melts my heart.  Norah loves snuggling up to her daddy & I don't blame her... he's the best snuggler!

2 months

Norah, today you turned two months!  I can't believe it... where is the time going?  I love spending every minute of every day with you!  You change so much each time I look at you!  You look JUST like your daddy these days!!  What a lucky girl!
I love that you are becoming aware of your surroundings and have found your smile.  We couldn't have asked for a happier little girl.  You love your Damon Dawg & I know you are just waiting for the day you can grab that furry tail... I fear for that day!
I cherish the moments, like right now, when you fall asleep on my chest.  I cry at the thought that these moments won't last forever, but I will hold onto these memories until the end of time!  As much as I wish that your daddy didn't work the night shift and could be home to help me with everyday stuff, I embrace every second of you-and-me time... the dishes & laundry can wait for another day!  I hope we will always make time for just us girls as you grow older!
You have started going to church on Sundays.  I pray that we give you a stable home & guide you in the right directions throughout your life!  God has blessed us with the most beautiful little girl & I have no doubt you were hand picked by your Nina!  She would have just eaten you up!!  I see her in you every time I cry and you smile back at me... like a little note telling me it's all going to be ok.
It breaks my heart to see you grow, but I just love the little lady that is sprouting.  You have such a great personality already.  You are going to give daddy & I a run for our money, I am sure, because we already melt over you.  We would give you the world if it was ours to give {daddy is always trying}.  When we figure out how to give it to you, it's yours... I promise!
We love you, Norah Bean!  I can't wait to see what month 3 has to offer us! xoxo

feeling crabby

This weekend was the local crab fest!  I guess those aren't uncommon in Maryland.
All of my meat eating friends were all over it... I go for pure entertainment.
We enjoyed live music, yummy food {the local bakery was even there, so I did not go hungry}, two bushels of crabs for everyone excluding Norah and me & lots of water to wash down the Old Bay & salt.
The prices on the bushels were unbeatable.  Brad got half the amount at a restaurant for twice as much as what they paid at the festival.  He would be eating crab every weekend if we could find a festival with those prices!

But, the weather was beautiful & we were surrounded by wonderful friends!  I love our weekend adventures!

On Sunday we all went down to the pier after church.  As the boys were crabbing up on the dock, us girls stayed in the shade under the pier & played in the sand and water.  It was Norah's first trip to the ocean.  She loved the sound of the waves, but when we tried to snap a quick cell phone pic of her dipping her toes in the water for the first time we got a lot of tears in return:

There will be many more trips to the beach and lots of opportunities for her to get used to the water.
