Father's Day is right around the corner, so I decided to add something for Dad to my Etsy shop. They will be a big hit out on the green! I'm thinking about making one for myself for my company's golf tournament in June!

When my brother was in little league he played baseball with a boy named Ryan. When we moved back to Pennsylvania, after living in Vermont for 5 years, they reunited and became best friends, which in turn, made him another one of my older brothers. They've been best friends ever since.
Two Friday's ago, when we were in PA, Jason got a phone call from Ryan letting him know that his help was needed. Ryan was making big plans to propose to his girlfriend at Dylan's baseball game. So, we all conjured up a plan that involved Dylan & a baseball (brilliant... I know).

While we were home in PA we had the opportunity to go to my nephew, Dylan's, baseball game before the wedding... boy was it a busy, and exciting, day (but more on the excitement in the next post). My brother & sister-in-law are so involved in Dylan's sports (I guess they have to be if they ever want to see him)... the boy's summer is PACKED with the Babe Ruth league & the All Star league. He definitely takes after his dad!
Jason is one of the team coaches & I can't think of anyone who could better fit those shoes. Jason was a starting pitcher & first baseman growing up. An all-star player!! I know he's so proud of his son!
After starting the game on first base, Dylan came in during the third inning as the pitcher! We were so proud of him & so excited to see him play!

When Brad and I got married, he made sure to forewarn me that the DeRoos lack in the luck department (or at least Brad does). He's not one to win prizes & generally works really hard for the things he accomplishes... well, maybe our luck has changed recently?!?
When Brad and I were grocery shopping a few months ago, there was one of those nifty little prize boxes by the Sam Adams display (it was so long ago I had forgotten all about it). The grand prize was a guided tour of the Sam Adams Brewery & a two night stay (with paid travel & accomodations) in Boston. All you had to do was send a text to be entered into the drawing... Ok, so maybe we aren't the luckiest people in the world because we didn't win the grand prize, but we did get this nifty contraption in the mail today:
It's a mini fridge!!
I wasnt overly excited about it, initially, but I love the wooden exterior of it with the engraving on the side! And the best part is, Brad has a place to store his home brews & free up room in the fridge! :-) And who can complain when it comes to a free Sam Adams fridge!?! Now, if only we could win the lottery... :-)

My brother, Justin, lives on a farm with lots of cute little animals from emus to chickens & cats. They all come out to greet us every time we visit... however, I've never met this guy before & boy was he ready to show off for us. I think Brad drooled a little by the sight of him (especially after an unsuccesful day of turkey hunting last week). He was quite the beauty!

This was our gift to Brad's mom for mother's day! Brad's sister's name on a sterling silver flower & Brad's on a copper pendant with their birthstones hanging close by! I think these are the modern mother's ring.
On another note, we had a busy weekend! And a fore warning, I took almost 300 pictures. I think I'll have plenty of blog posts this week, so stay tuned!

About 5 years ago my in-laws gave me a rosary bracelet from Ireland that I just love! Since I started making jewelry, I knew I wanted to try my hand at making one... I had no idea it would be so easy to make! I think something like this would be STUNNING in white for a bride (and since I have the supplies to make one, I'm sure it will follow shortly)!!! I added this particular one to the Etsy Shop.
The bracelet that Brad's parents gave me has been a piece of go-to jewelry. Like the "Believe" necklace I made, it's a nice reminder that there is a greater being looking over me. On rough days, I make sure to wear it, just in case I forget that a prayer will carry me through. And on the not-so-rough days, it's simply beautiful & helps to keep me grounded... who knew a bracelet could do so much for a girl?

I imagine today must have been the best day in the world for my mom (because, honestly, what mom wouldn't cherish a day just for her?!?). I remember ** snuggling under the covers on the chilly mornings ** my best attempt at eggs, burnt toast, & orange juice ** being lucky enough, on occassion, to share my birthday with her special day ** & spending the day in Skippack or Peddler's Village going into the primitive shops & antiquing (because that's what we loved to do most). ** When my mom fought for her life, she told me she wasn't afraid to die... what she was afraid of, was leaving her babies behind.
Can you blame her for feeling that way?
I know she would be so proud of us now. ** Jason, her oldest & her go to guy, is a very proud father of two wonderful kids & an amazing husband; supporting his family through all of the ups & down that life throws at all of us. ** Justin (who I'm still convinced was her favorite... hehe) is surviving in the world on his own. We're all pretty sure if mom was still here, he would still be living at home. She would be so proud of how easy you make it look, Justin! ** And me, her baby, graduated from college & went off & got married to a guy that she approved of 100%. She always told me that I would need a guy with patience unlike anything else... I couldn't have found somebody who met those requirements more & because of him, I continue to grow into the woman I'm pretty sure she hoped I would become.
I think she has taught us so much in the years we had with her that help us get through every day.
I think we're doing alright...
I speak for all of us when I say, there is not a day that we don't miss having her around or having the opportunity to pick up the phone when we need the advice that only she could give us. My mom was one of a kind... a fighter, a friend, and the best mom that three kids could ask for. She was selfless, always putting others ahead of her & the best listener... available at the drop of a hat. For those who had the opportunity to know her, I would say they were blessed. I am grateful for every day of the 23 years I had to spend with her & would give the world for just one more day. She is always in our hearts & we are always trying to keep her alive in our everyday activities. We had a lot to learn from her & I think she still sends her lessons to us from heaven. I can see why today would be her favorite day & I send all of my love to her in heaven for a wonderful mother's day.

On our way home from NJ last weekend, Brad and I took a detour off of the Thruway to stop and see the Orange County Choppers store & shop. It is amazing to see their custom work first hand. They have one heck of a talent.
By far our two favorite bikes (for obvious reasons).
We were able to see the garage where the show is filmed, but unfortunately the stars of the show were not present.
It was a fantastic trip & a great way to break up the drive home... and somehow I knew we would walk out hearing all about how much Brad wants a bike of his own, now... and it was worth it.

It has been painted & it is beautiful! The color we chose was "Chipotle Paste" & as concerned as I was about the finished product, the color is EXACTLY what we were looking for! And the cobalt blue Bennington Pottery accents it so well! This may be the best birthday present to date! :-)
And somebody decided to come out and visit:
Meet Lizzy Bean... Brad's 13+ year old leopard ghecko. She's very inquisitive, especially when there's a camera pointed at her! I just love her!!! :-)

Jenni hasn't seen these in person, yet, but this is what I made for Tre to give to his teachers as an appreciation gift! The ideas were 100% Jenni's & I think they're fabulous! So simple & so elegant! I was delighted and honored when she asked me to take on the task of making these gifts this year!!! I sure do hope everybody likes them. I'm just loving the lowercase stamps!

Lots of supplies arrived in the mail today, which meant I could get started on all of the projects I've been waiting on. The first two are my first ETSY sale... two cat name tags. They're itty bitty and super cute!
The necklace is for my friend Amanda who is getting married to Jeremy on 06.19.10 (wedding #3 for us this summer). She is considering it to wear on her wedding day. I just love the little ring.
I made two more necklaces that I am holding off on posting picutres of until I get the "ok" to do so. They're my favorite of them all & I just cannot wait to show them off!!!

This weekend we had the pleasure of celebrating in the marriage of two of our friends from college. On Saturday, Brad & I packed up the car & drove the three and a half hours down to Jersey. I'm pretty sure we couldn't have asked for a nicer day; we saw 80 degree weather and tons of sunshine. Zach & Steph are blessed right from the start.
Brad & Zach became great friends over the past couple of years of college. They were in the same graduating class & were both Criminal Justice majors... After being placed in so many classes together, I think they found they have sooooo much in common. They became gym buddies. Whenever I went to the gym with Brad, Zach was there! Graduation day was a sad day for all of us, I think, knowing that hanging out wouldn't come so easily.
Steph is a WONDERFUL girl. The sister of Zach's best friend growing up, I'm not sure anyone knows him as well as she does. They have been dating since college & trecked the long distance relationship from New Jersey to Vermont (that says a lot about any couple, in my opinion). We were so lucky to have met her back in 2004-ish... and can't think of anyone better for Zach! We're so happy this day has come!
This weekend was a weekend of reunions (well, at least for me). Two of Brad's friends from college were also in attendance. The boys were back in town...
...and you can't go to Jersey without doing some fist pumping!!!
We had a fabulous time & wish the night could have lasted forever. It's so sad to know that we hadn't seen them since 2007 & hope we don't have to wait so long to see them again. We're wishing them all the best in their new life together! We <3 you guys!!!
